    v.

    ILLINOIS ENVIRONMENTAL
    )
    PROTECTION AGENCY,
    )
    Respondent.
    ORDER OF THE BOARD
    (by 3.
    Theodore Meyer):
This matter comes before the Board on
    an October
    28,
    1986
    motion
    made
    by
    the
    Illinois
    Environmental
    Protection
    Agency
    (Agency)
    for
    leave
    to
    file
    motion
    for
    reconsideration
    instanter.
    That motion
    is hereby granted.
The Agency requests that the Board enter
    an order amending
the variance granted to Petitioner on September
    11,
    1986 by
    adding
    an additional condition
to require that the fluoride level
in Petitioner’s drinking water not exceed
    the
    federal standard of
    4.0 mg/i.
In support of this motion the Agency states that:
    1.
The variance should be granted consistent with federal
    law and the
    federal drinking water standard was
    recently increased
    to 4.0 mg/i;
    2.
USEPA has sought revocation of previous variances
    granted
    by the Board
    to public water
    supplies and
    the
    parties wish
    to avoid such possible event;
    3.
    Imposition of
    a condition that the
    fluoride level
    not
    exceed 4.0 mg/i would cause
    no hardship since
    Petitioner’s fluoride levels are
    in
    the 2.5
    2.85 mg/i
    range
    and have never
    exceeded 4.0 mg/l.
    On reconsideration,
    for
    the foregoing
    reasons,
    the Board
    believes
    it should amend
    its September
    ii,
    1986 order
    in this
    matter
    to provide that the
    level of fluoride
    in the potable water
    provided by Petitioner
    shall
    not exceed 4.0 mg/i.
    IT
    IS
    SO
    ORDERED.
