ILLINOIS ENVIRONMENTAL
PROTECTION AGENCY,
)
Respondent.
ORDER OF THE BOARD (by
3.
Anderson):
The original petition in this matter, filed March 4, 1988
sought variance from the combined radium—226, radium—228
standard; an amended petition filed May 5, 1988 added a request
for variance from the gross alpha particle activity level
standard. On June 6, 1988, the Village filed a motion for
expedited consideration in this matter, which gives, among other
reasons, the fact that the Village has received grant funds for
extension of its water system to serve an industrial
development. On June 10, 1988, the Agency filed its
Recommendation in support of grant of variance, accompanied by a
motion for leave to file instanter.
The Agency’s motion for leave to file is hereby granted. In
response to the Village’s motion, the Board will make every
effort to expedite decision in this matter consistent with
competing demands of its workload.
IT IS SO ORDERED.
I, Dorothy M. Gunn, Clerk of the Illinois Pollution Control
Board,, hereby certif that the above Order was adopted on
