    IN THE MATTER OF:

    (by G.T. Girard):
    On
    June
    10,
    1992,
    Reynolds
    Metal
    filed
    a
    status
    report
pursuant to the Board’s order of March 11, 1992; the Agency concurs
    with this report.
    The Board
    accepted this
    matter
    for hearing
    on January
    23,
    1992,
    but delayed
    assigning
    a hearing
    officer.
    This
    delay
    is
necessary because the petition could result
    in a revision to the
    State Implementation Plan
    (SIP).
Before a revision to the SIP can
be accepted, the USEPA must first revise the Federal Implementation
    Plan
    (FIP).
Reynolds has petitioned USEPA for the revision to the
FIP and is waiting for USEPA’s decision.
    In its most recent report,
    Reynolds states that:
    The USEPA
has advised that it will very shortly publish
    a
    further notice staying the effectiveness
    of the FIP
regulations and the applicable compliance dates as they
    apply
    to
    Reynolds
    for
    as
    soon
    long
    as
    necessary
    to
    complete
    the
    USEPA’s
    reconsideration
    of
    the
effectiveness of the FIP rules to Reynolds.
    The
    US)EPA
    has
    also
    advised
    that
    it
    is
    proceeding
    expeditiously with this reconsideration.
    The parties are directed
to file an updated status report on
    or before October
    1,
    1992.
    IT IS SO ORDERED.
