    Respondent.
    ORDER OF THE
    BOARD
    (by C.A. Manning):
This matter is before the Board pursuant to a joint motion
for stay of hearing filed on August 16,
    1994 by General Motors
    Corporation, Powertrain Division (“GM”)
    and the Illinois
    Environmental Protection Agency (“Agency”).
    On November 8,
    1991,
GM filed a permit appeal challenging conditions in an NPDES
    permit issued on October
    9,
    1991.
The hearing in this case has
been stayed while, among other things, the parties pursue
    settlement.
The motion to extend the stay indicates that the
parties are continuing with their negotiations, and they believe
an amicable resolution of this matter is possible.
Accordingly, we hereby grant an extension of the stay in
    this matter until July 1,
    1995.
    Though the parties have
requested a stay until August 15,
1995 and have provided a waiver
of the decision deadline until October 31,
    1995, we must allow
120 days upon the stay being lifted for a hearing, the filing
briefs and deliberation by the Board, should a hearing become
    necessary.
If this case has not yet been dismissed and the parties wish
    to conclude negotiations past July
    1,
    1995,
    the petitioner must
again seek an extension of the stay before the Board and provide
an additional waiver of the statutory decision deadline.
    In the
interim, the petitioner is directed to file a status report in
this case on or before December 8,
    1994.
    IT IS SO ORDERED.
