ILLINOIS POLLUTION CONTROL BOARD
September 30,
1971
CITY OF HIGHLAND
v.
)
#
71—181
71—284
ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY
Opinion of the Board
(by Mr.
Currie):
The City operates
a power plant for which
an approved Air
Contaminant Emission Reduction Program
(Acerp)
required replace-
ment
of coal—fired boilers with oil-gas units
by July
1,
1971.
Because of delivery delays
the City requested an extension to
October
1.
That date is tomorrow, and by then this petition will
be moot.
National Gypsum Co.
v.
EPA,
#
71-99
(August
2,
1971).
Within the past
few days, however,
the City has filed an
additional petition asking
for an extension to January
1,
1972
because of operating problems with
the new equipment being
installed.
We shall await
the Agency’s recommendation and decide
the case without hearing.
The earlier petition
#
71-181
is dismissed as moot.
I, Regina E.
Ryan, Clerk
of the Pollution Control Board, certify
that the Board adopted the above ~
thi.~—.~30
day
of
September
,
