Ravinia
asks
to
burn
two
trees
infected
with
Dutch
elm
disease.
We
have
granted
such
requests
I?efore
because
the
need
to
stop
the
spread of disease far outweighs the harm from burning, so long as
it is done in the proper place and manner.

We grant the present petition
subject to the conditions suggested by the Agency.
ORDER
Ravinia Park Festiv~lAssociation is hereby granted permission
to burn two diseased elm trees on its property in Highland Park, at
the location described in the petition, subject to the following
conditions:
Burning shall take place only when ths wind is from
the west; only when the wind velocity is between
S
and 20 miles per hour; only when the sky is not over-•
cast; and only between the hours of 10 a.m: and 4 p.m.
