    INTERIM
    ORDER
    OF THE BOARD
    (by Dr. Satchell):
This case comes before the Board on Du Pont’s
    (petitioner)
Request for variance from compliance with
    Rule 406 of Chapter
    3: Water Pollution,
    for Petitioner’s
    plant at Seneca,
    Illinois.
    The original petition,
    filed
    February 2,
1976, was deemed inadequate and an Additional
Information Order was issued on February 11,
    1976.
    A
Supplement to the Petition for Variance was received on
    March 29,
1976 and the statutory 90-day period for Board
decision shall run from this date.
The “Fertilizer Sunmtary Data-1974” published by TVA
    shows
an Illinois consumption of 738,291 tons of total N
utilized for fertilizer purposes and 364,003 tons of
    nitrogen solutions applied.
    Thus,
    it would appear feasible
    for Petitioner,
a basic producer of NH4NO3 and urea,
    to
upgrade their weak regeneration solutions to commercial
    concentration and market this
    as fertilizer.
    The Petitioner
    is
    asked to consider this alternative.
    IT IS SO
    ORDERED.

Moffett, Clerk of the Illinois Pollution
    Control Board,
