HEARING OFFICER ORDER
On July
19, 2005, the Board received
a rulemaking proposal submitted
by Silbrico
Corporation (Siibrico) that seeks a site-specific rule allowing it to dispose of nonhazardous, inert
waste generated at a manufacturing facility located
in Cook County at a “construction and
demolition debris”
facility.
The Board accepted the proposal for hearing on September
1,
2005.
On October 5, 2005, a status conference was held in
this matter.
Elizabeth Harvey
appeared on behalf of Silbrico, and Mark Gurnik appeared on behalfof the Illinois
Environmental Protection Agency.
The parties indicated that they are waiting
to
see how the
Board addresses a soon-to-be-filed
amended petition in a related variance proceeding, and
requested that an
additional status conference be held in 30 days.
This
request was granted, and a
status conference
was scheduled for November
7, 2005,
at
10:00 a.m.
