    On September
    8,
    1983 the Board entered an order including
    preliminary draft rules
    for the imposition of Stage
    II vapor
    recovery controls and requesting public comment and alternative
    proposals to be submitted within 60 days of that order.
    On
    October 20, 1983,
    the Illinois Petroleum Industry Stage
    II Vapor
    Recovery Task Force filed a motion
    for extension of the comment
    period for an additional
    90 days citing ongoing studies which
    could impact the Board’s consideration of this matter,
    On
    November
    2, 1983 the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency
    (Agency)
    filed a response to the motion which supports the
    extension for different reasons, most notably the possible
    preparation of an alternative proposal to be filed by the Agency.
    Additionally, substantial public interest has been shown in this
    proceeding by the nun~berof comments filed.
    For these reasons,
    the Board hereby extends the deadline for preliminary public
    comment until
    90 days from the date of this Order.
