On September
18, 1978,
PPG Industries,
Inc.
(“PPG”)
filed
a proposed amendment to Rule 203(d)
of Chapter
2:
Air Pollution
Control Regulations
(“Chapter 2”) which proposed that Rules
203(a)
and 203(c)
of Chapter
2 should not apply to float glass
manufacturing plants.
On March
7,
1979,
PPG filed a Motion to
Stay Proceedings in R78-12 which was granted by the Board on
March
15, 1979.
Concurrently, on March 15,
1979, the Board
entered an Order in
a related proceeding
(PCB 78—210)
which
granted PPG a variance from Rule 203(a) of Chapter
2 for its
float glass manufacturing facility in Mt.
Zion,
Illinois.
Because the stay of proceedings
in R 78—12 is no longer
necessary,
the Board will, on its own motion, hereby vacate
the stay and dismiss the regulatory proceeding
in R 78-12 as
moot.
