The Order entered herein on May

1981 is hereby amended

to clarify its applicability only to existing and not new sources

and the primacy of new source performance standards in Part IX

of Chapter

2.

It is the Order of the Illinois Pollution Control Board that

Rule 203(g)(1)

of Chapter

2:

Air Pollution Control Rules and

Regulations, be amended to add the following subsection.

(E)

Existing Coal-fired Industrial Boilers Equipped

with Flue Gas Desulfurization Systems.

Notwithstanding sub-paragraphs

(A)—(D)

of Rule

203(g) (1), no person shall cause or allow the

emission of particulate matter into the atmosphere

from existing coal-fired industrial boilers equip-

ped with flue gas desulfurization systems to exceed

0.25 pounds of particulate matter per million

Btu

of actual heat input in any one—hour period.

Nothing in this rule shall be construed to prevent

compliance with applicable regulations

in Part IX

of this Chapter.

The Clerk is directed to initiate Second Notice proceedings.
