    PROPOSAL FOR RULEMAKING.
    SUBMITTED BY THE ENVIRONMENTAL
    PROTECTION AGENCY.
    ORDER OF THE BOARD

    Anderson):
    On June
    12,
    1980 in R80—9 the Board authorized hearings
    on the proposal of the Mining Industry Task Force on Impulsive
    Noise and Vibration
    (Task Force)
    to postpone the compliance date
    established in Rule 209(f)
    of Chapter
    8:
    Noise Regulations.
    On July
    10,
    the Environmental Protection Agency
    (Agency)
    filed
    a proposal to delete Rule 209(f) entirely and to amend
    Rule 206 in certain respects
    to establish interim noise
    standards.
    Additions are proposed to Rule 101 “Definitions,” as well as to
    Rule 208 “Exceptions.”
    The Agency proposal has been assigned
    docket number R80-10.
    In the interests of administrative convenience, and pursuant
    to Procedural Rule 204(e),
    the Task Force and Agency proposals
    will be consolidated.
    Consolidated substance and economic impact hearings have
    been set for August 12 and 13 concerning the Task Force proposal.
    The Agency is hereby requested to present evidence and testimony
    concerning its proposal at that time.
