    CHAPTER

    )
    R78-17
    ORDER OF THE BOARD
    (by Mr. Goodman):
    As
    part
    of
    its
    on-going
    evaluation
    of its regulations and in
    response
to the Clean Air Act Amendments of
    1977,
    the Board on
    November
    16,
    1978,
ordered that hearings be set to determine
    the
    desirability of modifying or continuing
    in effect Rule 204(c) (1) (A)
    of Chapter
    2.
That proceeding was docketed R78-l4 and was consoli-
dated with a pending proceeding before the Board, R77—l5.
    On Nov-
    ember
    30,
    1978,
the Board initiated a similar proceeding
    as
    to Rule
    203(g) (1).
    That proceeding was docketed R78-16
    and was consolidated
with a proposal submitted to the Board by the City of Rochelle,
    docketed R78—15.
Today, again as part of its continuous examination of
    its reg-
ulations and in response to the Clean Air Act Amendments,
    the Board
    proposes to delete Rule 204(c) (1) (D)
    (designated Rule 204(c) (1) (B)
    (ii) prior
to our adoption today of R75-5).
    The Board orders
    that
    hearings pursuant to Sections
    27(a)
    and 27(b)
    of the Environmental
Protection Act be set to determine whether
    this rule
    is necessary
    or
    whether
it is obsolete and therefore merits deletion.
    This pro-
    ceeding will be docketed R78-17.
    The above named proceedings,
    R77—l5,
    R78-l4,
    R78-15,
    R78—16
    and R78—17,
    all involve
    fuel combustion emission sources
    and,
    due
    to the interrelationship
    of the control
    technologies
    for sulfur
dioxide and particulate emission control and other considerations,
    involve overlapping issues.
    The Board,
    therefore,
    finds that in
the interest of convenient and expeditious resolution
    of the issues,
these various proceedings should be consolidated.
    The Board, there-
    fore,
    orders that R77—15,
    R78—14,
    R78—l5,
    R78-16 and R78—17 be
    consolidated for purposes
    of hearing.
    IT IS SO ORDERED.
