ORDER OF THE BOARD
(by B. Forcade):
On March
7,
1984, Jefferson Electric Division, Litton
Systems,
Inc.
(“Jefferson”) filed a Petition for Variance.
That
Petition is deficient
in that it fails:
1.
to provide information on ozone ambient air quality,
in areas impacted by this variance request, from 1980
to the present;
2.
to provide information on the level
of VOC emissions,
in pounds per year, which will not adversely affect
air
quality standards or the environment.
This information
should include any available
VOC
emissions data
that
would assist the Board in reviewing the impact of
emissions during the
time
of greatest concern, the
ozone season.
Unless an amended petition is filed within 45 days of
the
date
of this Order curing the above—noted defect, this petition
will be subject to dismissal.
Jefferson has waived hearing in this matter.
However,
because Jefferson has requested a Variance from Volatile Organic
Compound
(VOC)
limitations, which would require a State Imple-
mentation Plan revision
if granted,
a hearing must be held.
IT IS SO ORDERED.
I,
Christan L.
Moffett, Clerk of the Illinos Pollution
Control Board, hereby certify that the above Order was adopted
