    ORDER OF THE
    BOARD (by C.A. Manning):
On November 3, 2000, the parties filed a joint notice of extension of the 35-day period to
appeal a decision of the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency. The Board hereby grants
petitioner Morton International, Inc. (Morton) an extension of the time period for filing an appeal
in the matter until December 28, 2000, pursuant to Section 40(a)(1) of the Environmental
Protection Act (415 ILCS 5/40(a)(1) (1998)). Because the Board has timely received a joint
notice of extension, the Board extends the appeal period to the aforementioned date. The Board
will dismiss this matter and close the docket if petitioner fails to file an appeal on or before that
    date.
Section 101.107(b) of the Board’s procedural rules states that “[a]ttorneys not licensed
and registered to practice in the State of Illinois may request to appear on a particular matter on
motion filed with the Board.” 35 Ill. Adm. Code 101.107(b). By motion filed November 3,
2000, attorney David C. Kurland requests that he be allowed to appear before the Board on
behalf of Morton. Kurland states that he is licensed to practice law in the State of Pennsylvania,
that he is in good standing, and, as in-house counsel to Morton, is familiar with the facts and
legal issues involved. The Board grants the motion to appear
    pro hac vice
    .
    IT IS SO ORDERED.
I, Dorothy M. Gunn, Clerk of the Illinois Pollution Control Board, hereby certify that the
above order was adopted on the 16th day of November 2000 by a vote of 7-0.
    Dorothy M. Gunn, Clerk
    Illinois Pollution Control Board
