ORDER OF THE BOARD

On June
6,
1984 the City of Knoxville filed a petition for
variance extending their current variance from finished water
standards for gross alpha particle activity and flouride found
in Rules 304(B)
and
(C) of Chapter
6
(now recodified as
35 Ill.
Adm. Code 604.301 and 604.203(a) respectively).
This petition is deficient in that it fails to provide information
on the following,
as required by 35 Ill. Adm.
Code 104.121:
1.
A plan for ultimate compliance with the Board’s
standards including a time schedule for the implemen-
tation of all phases of such a control plan.
2.
A discussion of the current availability of alternate
methods of compliance, particularly such methods as
purchasing water
from non-contaminated sources and
blending water to reduce its overall contaminated
character,
Unless an amended petition is filed within 45 days curing
the above noted defects, this matter will be subject to dismissal.
