    ORDER OF THE BOARD (by E.Z. Kezelis):
    A complaint in the above captioned matter was filed on May 17, 2001. The
    complainant alleges that the respondent violated Section 9(a) of the Environmental Protection
    Act (Act) (415 ILCS 5/9(a) (2000)), and Section 201.141 of the Board’s air pollution
    regulations (35 Ill. Adm. Code 201.141), by releasing styrene vapor, associated vapors, and
    polymerized styrene product from a rail tanker car. The complainant alleges that the violations
    occurred while the tanker car was moving through Jackson and Randolph Counties, in Illinois.
    The Board accepts this matter for hearing.
     
    The Board directs that this matter proceed to hearing as expeditiously as practicable.
    The assigned hearing officer must set the matter for hearing in accordance with the
    requirements of the Act and of the Board’s procedural rules. It is the responsibility of the
    hearing officer to guide the parties toward prompt resolution or adjudication of this matter,
    through whatever status calls and hearing officer orders he or she determines are necessary and
    appropriate.
