VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD
v.
)
#
72~9
ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY
Opinion
& Order of the Board
(by Mr. Currie):
Deerfield petitioned
for extension to December,
1973
of the June
1972 deadline
(Rules
and Regulations
SWB-14)
for ad-
vanced sewage treatment,
alleging that delays
in obtaining the
approval of
the Northeastern Illinois Planning Commission for
the improved plant as part o~the regional plan had caused
a
justifiable delay
in commencing construction,
Since the filing
of the petition, we adopted
a new December
1973 deadline
for such
treatment throughout the State,
on
the basis of revisions in
the substantive requirements governing advanced treatment.
See Water Quality Standards Revisions,
#R 71-l4, March
7,
1972.
The Village’s proposed schedule is within the new dead-
line, and therefore
there
is no need for
a variance.
The
petition
is therefore dismissed
as moot.
I, Christan Moffett, Clerk of the Pollution Control Board,
certify
~t
the Board adopted the above Opinion and Order
this
