ORDER OF THE BOARD
(by J. Theodore Meyer):
On July
8,
1993, petitioner Acme Steel Company
(Acme)
filed
a status report in this proceeding, and a motion to file that
report instanter.
The status report is in response to the
Board’s April
22, 19932 order.
The motion to file instanter
states that the status report was delayed for completion of a
thermal study in order to determine the appropriate course of
action in this case.
The motion to file instanter
is granted.
This status report states that Acme has been investigating
the possibility of seeking permanent relief from more stringent
thermal and other effluent standards imposed when the Board
reclassifed Acme’s receiving water.
Acme states that it is
preparing a petition for adjusted standard and supporting
documentation, which will be submitted to the Illinois
Environmental Protection Agency
(Agency)
for discussions.
Acme
states that it will then file the adjusted standard petition with
the Board.
Acme believes that it will have these discussions
with the IEPA and submit its petition within 90 days.
The Board accepts Acme’s status report,
and directs Acme to
file an additional status report by November 1,
1993.
IT IS SO ORDERED.
I,
Dorothy M. Gunn, Clerk of the Illinois Pollution Control
Board,
