ILLINOIS POLLUTION CONTROL BOARD

PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS,
    Complainant,
    PCB 91—157
    v.
    )
    (Enforcement)
    )
    THE GRIGOLEIT COMPANY,
    Respondent.
    ORDER OF THE BOARD
    (by J. Anderson):
    On May 11,
    1993, The Grigoleit Company (Grigoleit)
    filed a
joint status report on behalf of it and the People of the State
    of Illinois
    (People)
in response to the Board’s March 25,
    1993
order as well as a motion for leave to file the status report
    instanter.
    In its March 25,
1993 order, the Board directed the
parties to file status reports with the Board by May 3,
    1993.
    In
its status report, Grigoleit requests the Board to
continue this matter and require the parties to file a status
    report on or before June
    4,
    1993.
In support of its request, the
Grigoleit states that it and the People have continued
    settlement negotiations which would,
    if successful,
    culminate in
the settlement of this case as well as the following three cases:
PCB 90-135, The Grigoleit Company v. Illinois Environmental
    Protection Agency
PCB 92-23, The GricToleit Company v.
    Illinois
    Environmental Protection Agency
    and PCB 92-110,
    In the Matter of
Trade Secret Claim by The Grigoleit Company.
Grigoleit adds that the parties met on April
    29,
    1993.
    At
such time, Grigoleit provided the State with information in
response to questions and issues that had been previously
    discussed during prior settlement negotiations.
    The State
    is
reviewing the information and will shortly respond with any
    questions and comments.
At the outset, the Board notes that Grigoleit,
    in its motion
for leave to file the status report instanter, represents that
the People have no objection to the motion.
    Accordingly, the
Board grants Grigoleit’s motion for leave to file the status
    report instanter.
The Board also notes that this is the parties’ fifth motion
to continue this matter for the purpose of settlement
    negotiations.
In the interests of administrative economy,
however, the Board accepts the status report and grants the
    request to continue.
The Board cautions the parties, however,
that it will not continue this matter indefinitely and that it
expects the parties to expeditiously pursue a resolution of this

    case.
The parties are directed to file status reports in this
    matter.
Such status reports are to be received by the Board no
    later than June
    4,
    1993.
    IT IS SO ORDERED.
