1975, People of the State
of
Illinois
(People)
filed
with the Pollution Control Board
(Board)
a Complaint
(PCB
75-80) against United States Steel Corporation
(Steel) alleging
violations
of certain Rules of the Air Pollution Regulations,
Chapter
2
(Chapter
2) and Section 9(a)
of the Environmental
Protection Act
(Act).
People filed an 2~mendedComplaint with the
Board on March 14,
1975.
On April
2,
1974,
the Environmental Protection Agency
(Agency)
also filed with the Board a Complaint
(PCB 75-141)
against United
States Steel Corporation alleging violations
of certain Rules of
Chapter
2 and the Act.
Both of these Complaints are against an integrated steel
plant, owned and operated by Respondent, and located at or near
3426 East 89th Street, Chicago, Illinois.
On May
1,
1975, United States Steel Corporation filed with
the Board in each of these cases,
a Motion to Consolidate PCB 75—80
and PCB 75-141.
Respondent stated that
(1) the subject matter of
both cases
is the same,
(2)
similar issues are raised in both
cases,
(3) counsel for all of the parties are identical,
and
(.4)
consolidation of these two cases would not prejudice any sub-
stantial right
of any
interested party to either action.

The Illinois Pollution Control Board hereby grants
Respondent’s Motions to Consolidate PCB 75-80and PCB 75-141,
