Dorothy Gunn, Clerk
Illinois Pollution Control Board
James Thompson Center

Dear Ms. Gunn:
I would like to express my support for the McHenry County Board’s decision to deny
Marshall Lowe’s application for a Waste Transfer Facility in Cary.
He failed to meet number 2, number 3, and number 5 of the nine state criteria set for
such a transfer facility. Nothing has changed since the denial. The property still borders
a sensitive conservation area, is still just over 1000 feet away from a large residential
subdivision and still borders a 55+ acre parcel of land that has been approved for
commercial and residential development.
The impact of the increased traffic flow is unacceptable for a route that is already a
heavily traveled road.
I live in the residential subdivision that would be affected most. I can’t imagine what the
noise, odor and ground pollution would do the quality of life in my area, nor what would
happen to our property values.
Please uphold the McHenry County Board’s decision of denial.
Thank you,
~
