Dear Ms. Gunn:

We oppose the proposed Lowe Northwest Highway Transfer Station. This proposal does

not meet the criteria set by the state, especially criteria 2, 3, and

5.

The proposed locationis unworkable. The impact on the Hollows and on the two close

subdivisions would be horrendous. Further, the traffic congestion on Route 14— one of

the most important roads in our area

would be a disaster.

Mr. Lowe’s proposed facility belongs somewhere else, not on a busy, major highway and

not where it will impact the lives oflong established residents.

We ask that the Illinois Pollution Control Board support the County Board’s rejection of

Mr. Lowe’s proposal.
