5TAFE OF ILLINOIS
My name is Lyle Headon and I am a resident of Cre~
Mon Control Board
Illinois. In fact I am third generation and my grandchildren are
fifth generation who all were and are continuous in residence of the
Village of Creston. We reside there because of the quality of life
found only in close-knit communities such as ours.
Now we are faced with a great change that could jeopardize
tb2t same quality of life we enjoy. We are confronted with the
Iaiidfihl that could pollute our precious water supply. Yes, there has
been much debate about the porous rock that separates the landfill
from our aquifer and the promoters feel that there is no concern.
However, we the opposition feel that there are still too many
uncertainties about this issue and that our drinking water needs the
protection it deserves.
I for one certainly understand that life has no guarantees, but
if we do not take the initiative to deny the possibility of our children
being faced with polluted drinking water, what can we say for our
existence here?
Sincerely,
4~44kJ~~~
