GUTMANN LEATHER COMPANY INC .'S PETITION TO WITHDRAW ITS PERMIT
APPEAL
Petitioner, GUTMANN LEATHER COMPANY INC .'S ("Gutmann"), hereby submits
this petition requesting the withdrawl of its current permit appeal . In support of this petition,
Gutmann states as follows :
I .
Gutmann was a leather tanner and finisher of leather shoes . Petitioner's facility (Facility
ID No . 031600DHE) was located at 1511 West Webster Avenue in Chicago
.

On April 24, 2000, the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency ("IEPA") issued
Gutmann a final Clean Air Act Permit Program ("CAAPP") for its Chicago facility .

On July 24, 2000, Petitioner submitted its request for a Hearing and Appeal of its final
CAAPP permit. Gutmann's Petition for Hearing and Appeal is currently still pending before the
Illinois Pollution Control Board
("IPCB").

Earlier this year Gutmann ceased its operations at its Chicago facility and has since
removed its process equipment from the above referenced facility
. Consequently, the above
referenced CAAPP permit is no longer applicable to the Chicago facility .
5.
Gutmann is in the process of notifing IEPA to terminate the CAAPP permit .

WHEREFORE, for the foregoing reasons, Gutmann respectfully petitions the Board to
withdraw its pending permit appeal.
