To Whom It May Concern:
I just recently read an article outlining the proposed rules for mercury emissions from Illinois power
plants
. According to this article, Illinois has made a proposal that goes much farther than federal
requirements
. I am proud to be living in a state that values protecting our environmental resources
.
It would be exciting to see Illinois take the lead in this matter in ways the federal government was
unwilling to do
. Showing that coal fired power plants can be clean is also a great example for the
future of coal fired power in our country
. I genuinely hope these proposed rules are adopted by the
Board.
