Mercury pollution from Illinois coal plants is a danger to our health and our environment

. Please make sure

Illinois' mercury rule:

-

Requires coal plants to reduce their mercury pollution by 90 percent by 2009

-

Does not allow for "pollution trading" schemes that would let some polluters buy their

way out of

cleaning up

-

Does not contain loopholes that would let some coal plants avoid installing the

best available

pollution controls .

We should do everything we can to protect our children

all of us from the health threats posed by mercury

pollution . I urge you to protect our kids by adopting the
