Dear Ms
. Gunn,
It is my opinion that we need to have further review in the form of a public hearing in
regards to the permit issued to U .S
. Steel's Granite City Plant granting the watershed
"rights"( PCB 06-171)
to dump million of gallons industrial waste water into horseshoe lake .
My family and I have enjoyed Horse Shoe Lake as a State Park
. not as settling basin for
heavy metals
. If you think the two concepts can coexist then prove it to me in a public hearing
.
I'm not sure how you ascertain and calibrate "significant degree of public interest in the proposed
public hearing," but I'm part of the public and I am interested to a "significant degree
." I am sure
that if there was a greater degree of awareness on the part of the public as to what is afoot here
you would see the outpouring of public interest you need
.
I will do my best to inform and create that awareness in people -
now let's do what is
right and see if your agencies action will stand up in the light
.
