ORDER OF THE BOARD (by B. Forcade):

On May 22, 1987, Arlington Park Racetrack, Ltd. (“Arling-

ton”), filed a motion for extension of time in which to comply

with Order to provide additional information.” That motion seeks

to extend the present June 1, 1987, deadline for filing an

amended petition in this matter. Arlington seeks until August 3,

1987, to file the amended petition so that it might acquire

additional information. At the May 28, 1987, Board meeting, the

Board expressed concern that the extension would bring the new

filing to the Board perilously close to the present due date for

this proceeding (August 6, 1987) and no written waiver of

decision deadline had been filed. Counsel for Arlington was

present at the Board meeting and stated that an appropriate

written waiver would be expeditiously filed. Based on that

assertion, the Board grants the motion to extend time for filing

an amended petition. That amended petition is now due not later

than August 3, 1987.

On April 30, 1987, the Board received an objection to

variance which triggers the requirement for a hearing. When the

amended peition is filed, the Board will set this matter for

hearing.
