THE
BOARD
(by Mr. Seaman):
On July 1, 1974, the parties in the above-~captionedcause
filed a
Joint Motion To Amend paragraph 2.a, of the Boards Order of
May 29,
1974.
The parties move that said Order be amended as follows:
Petitioner shall post a Performance Bond in the amount of $5O~OOD to
assure:
(i) the
installation of pollution control equipment; or
(ii) a change in its explosives waste disposal process; which
will achieve compliance with the Illinois Environmental
Protection Act and the Rules and Reguietions
of
the
Board~
Said Performance Bond shall be posted with the Agency in
a form acceptable to the Agency at the following address:
Illinois Environmental Protection Agency
Fiscal Service
Section
2200 Churchill Road
Springfield,
Illinois 62706
In support thereof, Olin states that it will promptly submit to the
Board a compliance program involving a change in its explosive waste
disposal process which will segregate most plastics, papers and metals
from the wastes before burning; thus, according to tests which Olin has
made, the need for pollution control equ~pment.for the incinerators will
be eliminated.
The Joint Motion To Amend is granted and paragraph 2~a.of the Board~s
Order of May
29~
1974
is
modified as set out above.
