ILLINOIS POLLUTION CONTROL BOARD
June 21, 1973
THE MIDWAY ORGANIZATION,
Complainant,
v.
)
PCB 73—198
FRANCIS P. KANE,
DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS, and
METROPOLITAN SANITARY DISTRICT
OF GREATER CHICAGO,
Respondents.
ORDER OF THE BOARD (by Mr. Seaman):
Complainant, The Midway Organization, has filed a
Motion to post-pone for three weeks the date of the hearing
in the above-entitled case, to re-assign the place of the
hearing from the County Building to a location within the
community, and to set a time for the hearing in the evening
hours.
It is the policy of this Board to encourage maximum
citizen participation and expression at all public hearings
in order that differing Views may be represented and considered.
In the instant case, it is probable that the majority of par-
ticipants and witnesses live in the vicinity of Midway Airport;
therefore, a site in that area shall be chosen.
Further, it appears that an evening or Saturday hearing
would, under the circumstances of this particular case, be
more convenient to the majority of interested persons; there-
fore, an evening or Saturday hearing shall be scheduled. We
grant the petition as requested.
IT IS SO ORDERED.
I, Christan L. Moffett, Clerk of the Illinois Pollution Control
Board, certify that the above Order was adopted by the Board
