&
PAPER CORP.,
Petitioner,
vs.
PCB 73—368
ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTiON AGENCY,
Respondent.
ORDER OF THE BOARD (by Mr. Henss)
Petitioner
requests extension of a variance which
was
granted in
PCB
72-236.
The
variance granted
at
that time
was “an experiment to determine the adequacy
of the air
curtain destructor
as a substitute
for more expensive
incinerators
in the burning of clean
Wood
that does not
qualify as landscape waste”.
The current Petition
for
Extension of Variance contains very little
information
and must be supplemented with additional
data for our
understanding
of the benefits of this experiment.
Petitioner
is ordered to file a supplement or amendment to the petition
stating the quantity and type of materials which have been
and are to be burned and an estimate of the quantity and type
of contaminants discharged. We should also be informed of
the economic necessity for disposing of the material by
burning in an air curtain destructor rather than by other
means of disposal.
IT IS SO ORDERED.
Mr. Odell abstains.
I, Christan L. Moffett, Clerk of the Illinois Pollution Control
Board, her by certify the above Order was adopted this (o’~’
