PRELIMINARY ORDER OF THE BOAR) (by Mr. Currie):

This petition, filed October 6, seeks permission to burn branches

of trees blown down in a recent tornado; the Agency recommends we grant

it. Our rules require that we wait 21 days to allow citizen comments

on variance petitions, so we shall place the case on the agenda for

decision October 31 in light of the need for expeditious handling. We

note the petition does not indicate why it is not practicable to utilize

an air—curtain destructor or similar device, as required by the regula-

tions, to minimize emissions

and avoid

the need for a

variance.

The

City may file such supplementary information between now and October 31.
