I am writing

asking

you to deny Peoria

Disposal Company’s

request to delist electric arc

furnace dust (AS

2008-0 10).

Their action is

a back

door

attempt

to

expansion

of the

landfill, an expansion denied both

by the Peoria County

Board and the IPCB. The

safety

of

PDC’s

proposal has

no

verifiable assurances either

to

the impact on the

existing

landfill or the processes

PDC intends to enact. The

proposed processes

have not even

been verified by independent labs.

Their proposal

shifts

risk from

one portion of central

Illinois

to

another. Please listen

to and work with

the citizens of Central

Illinois to begin

the process of closing this landfill and

eliminate further risk

to the health and safety of the

local

community.
