MOTION FOR EXTENSION OF TIME
NOW COMES
the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (“Illinois EPA”)
and, pursuant to 35 Ill. Adm. Code 101.522, moves the Illinois Pollution Control Board
(“Board”) to grant the Illinois EPA an extension of time in which to file its public
comments in the above captioned matter.
The public comment period in this matter is scheduled to close on or about June 5,
2005. However, due to the large volume of the consolidated rulemaking and the fact that
the new Part 727 Standardized Permit changes are far reaching, the Illinois EPA needs
more time to evaluate how the new regulations are intertwined with the existing
regulations. Therefore, the Illinois EPA respectfully requests that the Board grant us
until June 30, 2006 to file its public comments in this matter.

1. That the Board has set a Public Comment deadline of June 5, 2006 in the
consolidated Identical-in-Substance rulemaking, Docket No.s R06-17 through
R06-18;
2. That due to the large volume of the consolidated rulemaking (over 1,000 pages)
and the far-reaching effect that the new Part 727 Standardized Permit
requirements have on the existing regulations, the Illinois EPA needs additional
time to evaluate how the new regulations are intertwined with the existing
regulations;
3. That during its review, the Illinois EPA has found inconsistencies between the
federal regulations and their corresponding State regulations; and
4. The Illinois EPA does not believe it can accomplish its review by the June 5, 2006
deadline set by the Board.
