    Proposed Rule. Dismissal Order.
ORDER OF THE BOARD (by G.T. Girard):
Section 9.1(e) of the Environmental Protection Act (415 ILCS 5/9.1(e) (1996)) requires
the Board to adopt regulations which are identical-in-substance to exemptions from the
definition of volatile organic material (VOM) those compounds that the United States
Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) has found to be exempted from regulations under
state implementation plans for ozone due to negligible photochemical reactivity. USEPA has
codified these exemptions as part of its definition at 40 CFR 51.100(s). Accordingly, the
Board reserved this docket for USEPA amendments during the period from January 1, 1997
through June 30, 1997. However, USEPA did not amend its definition during this period.
For the foregoing reasons, the Board hereby dismisses this proceeding and closes this
    docket.
    IT IS SO ORDERED.
I, Dorothy M. Gunn, Clerk of the Illinois Pollution Control Board, hereby certify that
the above order was adopted on the 7th day of August 1997, by a vote of 6-0.
    Dorothy M. Gunn, Clerk
    Illinois Pollution Control Board
