ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY

ORDER

The Board having considered the complete record

in this case

hereby grants

a variance

from the Special Condition relating to

final clarification with chemical coagulation of EPA Permit No.

1971—AB-403 to the

Lake County Department of Public Works

(Vernon Hills Sewage Treatment Plant)

for the period of one year,

until January

23,

1973,

subject to extension upon filing of a

petition

for extension within not

less than 90 days of the

expiration date.

The grant of variance

is

subject to the following

conditions:

1.

That Petitioner complete construction of its tertiary

lagoons by February 1972.

2.

That Petitioner proceed with its plans

to abandon the

old treatment plant upon completion of the New Century

Town plant.

3.

That Petitioner submit quarterly reports to the Board and

the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency reporting on

progress to date and explaining all substantial deviations

from Petitioner’s present construction schedule.

4.

That Petitioner adhere to each of the conditions

of this

variance grant.
