    ORDER OF THE BOARD
    (by Mr. Goodman):
    In 1977,
    Congress passed amendments
    to the Clean Air Act,
    42
    U.S.C. 7401 et seq.
    (effective August
    7,
    1977)
    .
    In response
    to
    those
    amendments
    and
    as
    part
    of
    its
    on-going
    examination
    of
    its
    regulations,
    the
    Board
    is
    currently
    considering
    several
    amendments
    to its Air Pollution Regulations:
    Chapter
    2 of its Rules and
    Regulations.
Those rules currently being considered include rules
    governing hydrocarbon emissions
    (R78—3,-4), particulate emissions
    (R78—l0,—l1),
    sulfur dioxide emissions
    (R75-5 and R74-2)
    ,
    and others.
Rule 204(c) (1) (A), adopted by the Board pursuant to R7l-23,
regulates sulfur dioxide emissions from existing fuel combustion
    emissions
    sources
    in the St. Louis
    (Illinois)
    ,
    Peoria,
    and Chicago
    Major Metropolitan Areas.
The Board finds that the Clean Air Act
    Amendments
    of 1977 as well as
    the Board~s interest in on-going
evaluation of its regulations dictate re-examination of Rule
    204(c)
    (1) (A).
The Board, therefore, orders that hearings pursuant to
    Sections
    27(a)
    and 27(b)
of the Environmental Protection Act be set
to consider the desirability of modifying or continuing
    in effect as
    adopted pursuant to R71—23 Rule 204(c) (1) (A)
    of Chapter
    2.
The Board notes that information pertinent to this proceeding
may be contained in records of prior proceedings before the Board,
    including R71—23,
    R75—5, R74—2 and R76-9.
    The Board will consider
incorporating the records or portions of the records of these pro-
ceedings upon motion by any participant.
Finally, another proposal currently before the Board, R77-15,
    involves sulfur dioxide emissions
    from smaller fuel combustion
    sources
    in the Peoria MMA.
Because that proceeding and the instant
proceeding involve overlapping issues, we hereby consolidate the two
    matters for purposes of hearing.
    IT IS SO ORDERED.
