HEARING OFFICER ORDER
On June 1, 2005, counsel for respondents filed with the Clerk an “agreed order” granting
respondents an extension of time until June 17, 2005 to answer or otherwise plead. There was
no motion accompanying the order, indicating that the People had agreed to the contents of the
order.
As Hearing Officer Halloran’s supervisor, I am attending to his cases during his absence
on paternity leave. I telephoned the People’s attorney Paula Becker Wheeler at approximately
3:45 p.m. on June 1, 2005, and left a voice mail message asking whether this was an extension to
which she had agreed. Ms. Wheeler returned the call on June 2, 2005, and left a voice mail
message at approximately 11:05 a.m. Ms. Wheeler stated that she had agreed to the extension.
Accordingly, respondents are granted an extension to and including June 17, 2005 to answer or
otherwise plead to the complaint.
The parties or their legal representatives are reminded that they were previously directed
to participate in a telephonic status conference with the Hearing Officer Halloran on July 14,
2005, at 9:30 a.m.
IT IS SO ORDERED.
